General Summary: The RN Pharmaceutical Coordinator order, receives, stocks and distributes pharmaceuticals; takes inventory, reorders stock pharmaceuticals; fills, logs and delivers requisitions from departments; matches and codes all invoices to send to the Accounting department; maintains a program to control pharmaceuticals and selected supplies from acquisition to disposition and may include a combination of project assignments.
Essential Functions include:
• Identify and assess need for pharmaceuticals and assure those needs are met at lowest possible cost, consistent with best quality.
• Monitor functioning areas (inventory control system, expenditure data analysis/reporting, product conversion to primary and exclusive vendors, special projects).
• Purchase a variety of pharmaceutical products; select vendors; place purchase contracts.
• Process requisitions for pharmaceuticals and select related supplies; determine appropriateness of controlled substance offers; process controlled substance orders according to clinic policy.
• Receive, inspect and verify incoming pharmaceuticals with corresponding purchase orders; reconcile and approve invoices.
• Price and stock incoming pharmaceuticals; post inventory.
• Distribute pharmaceuticals to requesting departments; satisfy storage and security requirements.
• Handle discrepancies, back orders, emergency needs and trouble calls for pharmaceuticals.
Education: BS Nursing (BSN) Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) and have a valid Wisconsin nursing license.
