Rehabilitation Specialty Services

Our inpatient rehab environment offers experiences across three acute care hospitals in our new, freestanding Froedtert Bluemound Rehabilitation Hospital. Our 26-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit at Froedtert Hospital offers facilities designed to simulate a home environment while ensuring comfort and social interaction. We make it our goal to return patients to the highest level of independence possible, and it takes a skilled team to get them there!

Additionally, we offer many outpatient therapy opportunities within our hospital-based outpatient departments and throughout the Froedtert Community Physicians Health Centers. These clinics (over 20 sites) and specialty services offer multiple options for working close to home with diverse patient populations that will meet any clinical interest!

Our dedication to high-quality, individualized rehabilitative care has earned us accreditation by The Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in four areas: Comprehensive Rehabilitation, and the Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury and Stroke Specialty rehabilitation programs.

Our services go far beyond our walls! We extend our reach to the community through programs provided by Froedtert Health athletic trainers within schools, clubs, professional teams, and the performing arts; work rehab therapists deliver early intervention and injury prevention programs on-site at local employers. And we have further increased access to therapy services by placing clinics within our community partner sites, such as the Jewish Community Center in Whitefish Bay and NX Level Sports Performance in Waukesha. These collaborations enhance care transitions for our patients once they leave our facilities.

Exceptional Care & Professional Development

As a division of the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin academic medical center, we focus on providing high-quality and evidence-based care. Here, we use the Focus on Therapeutic Outcomes (FOTO) system to measure and continuously improve our outpatient therapy performance. In fact, our Inpatient Rehabilitation program is CARF-accredited and was recently ranked in the Top 50 Rehabilitation Hospitals by US News and World Report. In addition, we leverage technology in care provisions, such as virtual therapy visits and digital options for home exercise programs through MedBridge.

Froedtert offers an established career ladder for each discipline that fosters career mobility if you're looking to grow professionally. Our therapists are inspired and empowered to realize their full potential through a robust system-education structure that brings national experts to Froedtert facilities to provide CEU offerings in multiple specialty areas.

Froedtert also supports certifications in clinical specialty areas offered at our rehabilitation sites. Additionally, outpatient physical therapists can provide care via direct access, which is especially convenient for loyal patients who choose to return to their trusted therapist as rehabilitation needs arise.
